Our Psychiatry and Neurology faculty have extensive experience in clinical projects of all sizes and covering the spectrum of CNS disorders. The resources of the DCRI and Duke University Medical Center are available to coordinate and conduct projects in psychiatry, neurology and analgesia, including child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Our CNS division also designs and leads unique projects of psychiatric disorders associated with comorbid illnesses, such as depression after heart attack and depression after stroke.

The DCRI has networks of investigators in child and adolescent psychiatry and is the co-coordinating center for the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, a nationwide consortium of premier research institutes, hospitals, and healthcare providers focused on improving the care of traumatized children. The DCRI also leads the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Trials Network (CAPTN), the first consortium of its kind, and works closely with the National Institutes of Health in other crucial projects, such as the Treatment for Adolescents with Depression Study (TADS).
