Duke Affiliated Rheumatology Trials (DART) is a network
of physicians from academic centers and community rheumatology
practices dedicated to conducting clinical research. DART
has 40 physician members at 32 sites (six academic and one
Veteran’s Administration Hospital). DART grew from a realization
that clinical research could not reach its full potential
without integrating clinical research at academic medical
centers and community practices. To accomplish this task,
we need an organization like DART that would bring together
academic and private practice rheumatologists in a way to
explore mutual research interests.
Membership
Membership is available to practicing rheumatologists certified
in the subspecialty of Rheumatology by the American Board
of Internal Medicine. Membership may also be granted to other
physicians with similar research interests. DART has an elected
Board of Advisors. All members are eligible for participation
in the administration and policy-making activities of the
group.
